A contemporary sports poem of Eastern power-accumulating aesthetics

Accumulate Power – The Oriental Art Accumulate Power Field Built by Our Parents

Grain Rain, 1979, old house in Suzhou.

A father, fascinated by Eastern culture, was capturing the morning light in a garden with his camera. He gazed at the outlines of the black tiles and white walls in the frame, gradually emerging through the mist. Dewdrops condensed on the tips of banana leaves reflected a faint light. Suddenly, his finger on the shutter button paused. “This play of light and shadow, the growth of plants and trees, isn’t this the most exquisite rhythm of time in the universe?”

Over a decade later, my daughter , Elsa , stood on tiptoe to copy the banana tree in the courtyard captured by her father’s camera. He gently took her hand and guided her brush: “Look, inhale as the leaf veins stretch, exhale as they droop. Let the brush flow with the rhythm of nature.” Nearby, the soft Wu dialect of Pingtan (Chinese folk tales) drifted through the blue-brick corridors, blending with the artistic conception captured by the camera and the fragrance of ink flowing from the brush. Her father’s fascination with garden architecture and Eastern nature, coupled with the rhythmic sense imbued in the changing solar terms, has deeply imprinted the genes of Eastern aesthetics, imbued in the film of time and in Elsa ‘s heart .

Gathering Strength – the common echo of oriental sports aesthetics

Summer solstice 2022, a tennis court in Shanghai.

Gripping her tennis racket, Elsa Xinran sensed a disconnect: the emphasis on instantaneous bursts of energy in the ace shot was starkly different from the “power originating from the ground, strength emanating from the spine” taught by her parents. As a tennis enthusiast , Elsa Xinran developed a desire to “trace” the Eastern sport’s roots.

Exert force – a perfect match, resounding throughout the world’s stadiums

  2023 Jingzhe, Shanghai Studio.

This glimmer of Eastern aesthetics ultimately illuminated the design team’s pursuit. Designer Philo , known for incorporating cutting-edge technology into sportswear , and Veronica Jinran, acclaimed for their Eastern philosophy and sustainable practices and formerly with luxury brand Hermès, forged a remarkable chemistry within the allwayace Shanghai studio. Their design philosophy is rooted in a profound dialogue between Eastern and Western aesthetics. They believe that great sportswear is not merely a tool for performance but a poetic extension of body and spirit. This resonates perfectly with Elsa Xinran ‘s vision of “reinventing Eastern sports aesthetics .” Thirty years of artistic soul imbued with the fragrance of ink, and twenty years of meticulously crafted athleticism, have finally coalesced within the allwayace brand DNA.

And so, allwayace was born on the Autumnal Equinox of 2023! After months of intense preparation, product refinement, and deep reflection and development of the brand philosophy, allwayace finally debuted in peak condition on this Summer Solstice!

allwayace will carry out its mission to bring the oriental sports aesthetics that have accumulated for thousands of years from personal training grounds to the world’s tennis courts and to the top of the world’s sports.
